Explosion Proof Lighting

Lighting in hazardous areas has one job before all others: it must never become an ignition source. Our explosion-proof range uses flameproof die-cast aluminium enclosures, tempered glass and sealed driver compartments, for refineries, chemical plants, fuel depots, petrol stations, paint shops and mines.

Frequently asked questions

What does Ex d IIC T6 Gb mean?

Ex d is flameproof protection, meaning the enclosure contains any internal explosion. IIC is the gas group that includes hydrogen and acetylene, the most demanding group. T6 means the surface temperature stays below 85 °C. Gb is the equipment protection level suitable for Zone 1 and Zone 2.

Which certificates do your explosion-proof lights have?

Our BED series holds explosion-proof certificate ZJEx23.0914 under the Chinese GB 3836 standard, which is aligned with IEC 60079. Certificates for the other series are sent with the quotation. If your project requires ATEX or IECEx certification, tell us at the inquiry stage and we will confirm which models can be supplied with it.

Can they run on 24 V or 36 V?

Yes. The standard input is AC/DC 90–265 V, and DC 24 V or AC/DC 36 V versions are available for mines and confined spaces.
