Solar insect killer lamps trap night-flying crop pests without chemicals, wiring or running costs. Farms use them to cut pesticide spraying. They are widely used in rice paddies, vegetable fields, orchards, tea gardens, tobacco fields and aquaculture ponds, where trapped insects can also feed the fish.
Why wind suction
Classic lamps use a high-voltage grid that burns insects and needs frequent cleaning. Wind-suction models use a fan to pull pests into a bag, so the catch stays dry. That makes it easy to count for pest monitoring, and it can be reused as poultry feed or fertiliser.
Automatic control
- Light control: on at dusk, off at dawn
- Time control: run only during the main pest flight hours
- Rain control: off when it rains
- Temperature control: off when it is too cold for insects to fly
- Lightning protection
These lamps suit agricultural projects, government farm-support programmes and distributors of farm inputs in Africa, South and Southeast Asia, and Latin America.
