The BED series is the explosion-proof luminaire family covered by our own certificate. It combines three protection concepts in one fitting: a flameproof LED chamber, an increased-safety terminal box and an encapsulated driver.

Frequently asked questions

What do the protection types db, eb and mb mean?

db is a flameproof enclosure (the housing contains an internal explosion), eb is increased safety (used for the terminal compartment) and mb is encapsulation (the potted driver). Combining them keeps the luminaire light while protecting every part that could spark.

Is T4 enough for my site?

T4 means the surface stays below 135 °C, which covers most hydrocarbons such as methane, propane, petrol vapour and hydrogen. Carbon disulphide (T6) is a notable exception. Check the temperature class in your hazardous-area classification and send it to us.

Can I see the certificate?

Yes. The scan is on our certificates page, and the certificate number can be checked with the issuing body. We send a copy with every quotation.
